The Greenfield Post 81 American Legion Baseball Team, which features both junior and senior teams, will hold registration and tryouts on May 4, 5 and 11 at 1 p.m. each day at Vets Field in Greenfield. 

Players from all Franklin County schools are eligible to try out, and those on a previous Post 81 roster must still try out in order to be eligible. Players must be age 19 and under on Dec. 31, 2024 to play for the senior team while the junior team players must be 17 and under by Dec. 31, 2024. 

Players are to bring a glove, cleats and their original birth certificate to the tryouts.

Chris Eugin shot the low gross of 34 in a 9 Hole Scramble at the Country Club of Greenfield on Tuesday. 

Elaine Mount, Julie Beres, Liz Archer, Barb Morris and Kim Wright tied for second (35) while Nancy  Conant, Ann McHugh and Emily Jarvis tied for third. 

■ The 18 Hole Women’s League at CCG held a match play versus par contest on Tuesday. Terry Boyce finished 1-up, Ann McHugh finished tied for par while Valerie Esquer was 1-down from par in Flight One. 

In Flight Two, Sue McDonald was 3-down, Irene Woods finished 3-down while Lane Kelly was 5-down.        

■ On Monday, Don Mailloux, Paul Barnard, Jeff Jackman and Bob Betsold shot the low men’s gross of 57 while Matt Parody, Dan Smith, Peter McLver and AJ Bresciano carded the low net (51) in the Cops/Nozzle Outing at the Country Club of Greenfield. 

Joe Lachance, Diane Carme, Mike Covey and Rich Young carded the low mixed gross (64) while Colleen Slattery, Tilly Clark, Ron McKay and Jasper Card recorded the low mixed net (51). 

Winners in closest to the pin were Steve Colby on No. 1 (35 inches), Randy Bernard on No. 2 (eight feet), Bob Frydyk on No. 5 (five feet, six inches) and Rich Young on No. 15 (one feet). Wendy Kendrick won closest to the line on No. 3.

Ruggeri Real Estate 11, Aubuchon Hardware 4 — Brody Suhl struck out five and added a pair of hits and RBIs at the plate, Jovanni Borgos knocked a hit while Sequoia Richards stole a base in Ruggeri’s AAA victory on Tuesday. 

Elias Tripp struck out six while Joshua James and William Simanski hit safely for Aubuchon. 

Smitty's Pub 9, Maniatty's Real Estate 6 — Topher Miller knocked a triple and scored twice, JJ Bones tossed three scoreless innings and hit a double while Sam Lawler had a hit and two RBIs in Smitty’s Majors victory on Monday. 

Philip Brodeur (double, two RBI), Logan Batiste (two hits), Jackson Puchalski (hit) and Luciano Steffalano (hit) led Maniatty’s in the loss. 

Gilmore and Farrell 12, Denny’s Pantry 6 — Casey Burke hit a home run and a double, Theo D’Urso and Bryce Zraunig both had three hits while Jayden Howard knocked two hits in Gilmore and Farrell’s Majors triumph on Monday. 

Xaviay Reynolds tallied a pair of hits and RBIs while Quest Petersen recorded two hits for Denny’s.

TFAC 14, Montague Elks Club 2 — Carter Greene recorded four hits, one a home run, and struck out eight, Hunter Kelley knocked two doubles while Philip Gaudet and Tyler Girard both hit safely in TFAC’s victory on Monday. 

Tyler Varley cracked two hits, Sammy Cheleva struck out seven and Jack Carney finished with eight strikeouts for Elks Club.

Pristine Oriental 12, Freedom Credit Union 4 — Hailey Sadler cracked three hits including a double, Mia Beckwith knocked three hits while Lilly Sadowsky recorded two hits in Pristine’s victory on Tuesday. 

Emma Prasol and Sophia Stacey each had two hits for Freedom. 

Tri-County

Northfield Cougars 18, Brattleboro 0 — Evy Lewis struck out six, Ryleigh Goodwin had a triple, a double and an RBI, Hannah Skorupa and Janessa Sadler both tallied two hits and two RBIs while Cheyanne Hutchinson had a hit and an RBI in Northfield’s win on Monday. 

Middle school

Greenfield 14, Athol 2 — Samantha Suhl struck out 14 and added a hit in Greenfield’s victory on Monday. Carson Farrell hit a two-run double in a pivot point of the game. 

Ella Reed struck out 13 for the Bears, and Ava Adams knocked a two-run single.
